The deck pairs a CD-R/RW recorder with a slot-loading transport and a cassette deck. It records and plays CD-R, CD-RW, CD-R-DA and CD-RW-DA discs, plays MP3 files, and can dub from cassette to CD and from CD to cassette. CD playback offers pitch control of ±12.5% and key control of ±6 half tones, both for CD-DA only.
On the CD side there is a 24-bit AD/DA converter, a sampling rate converter (32 kHz, 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz), digital input volume control, fade in and out, and auto track increment triggered by S/PDIF or audio level. CD-RW discs can be erased or un-finalized. The cassette deck has Dolby B noise reduction, auto reverse, a return-to-zero function and 10% pitch control.
There is an RIAA phono input for recording records to disc or tape, unbalanced RCA analog I/O, and coaxial and optical digital I/O for the CD section. CD and cassette outputs can be selected independently, and a headphone output with level control is included. The RC-222 wireless remote is supplied. This model has been discontinued.
