Bi-directional three-head professional cassette deck with a rotating head mechanism, built for long-format recording and playback. It allows confidence monitoring of the tape while recording and is aimed at broadcast and installation use.

The 112RmkII is a broadcast-series cassette deck that combines a bi-directional transport with separate record and repro heads. Because the heads sit on a heavy-duty rotating mechanism, the order of the record and repro heads is kept when the tape direction is flipped. This makes confidence monitoring possible: the signal coming off the tape can be heard while recording, so levels can be judged immediately.
Playback can be set to play one side and stop, play both sides and stop, or loop continuously. The deck carries over the functions of the 112mkII: two locate points with return to zero, repeat, a switchable MPX filter, Dolby B and C noise reduction with HX Pro headroom extension, and a pitch control of ±12% with its own on/off switch. Metering is by VU meters with peak LEDs, and an input monitor selector is provided.
Connections are unbalanced RCA analog in and out, front panel line inputs and a headphone output with level control. A parallel control port and a fader start function are provided for integration. The optional RC-112R wired remote and the optional LA-112 balancing kit, which adds XLR balanced ports, are available as accessories. The model is discontinued.
