The CMS 1201SW is a passive subwoofer for ceiling installations. It uses a 12" (300 mm) long-throw bass driver with a 3" copper sandwich voice coil, intended to keep power compression low, and three aluminium demodulating rings to hold distortion down. It is designed for systems that use an external active crossover with separate amplifier channels for the subwoofers.
The enclosure is a powder-coated steel back-can with a grille assembly, both sold separately. The damped back-can has a volume of 79 litres (2.8 cubic feet). Mounting options include steel lugs for a Unistrut roof rail system, four top-mounted eye bolts for suspension, or single-point suspension using M10 or 3/8" UNC threaded rod. One person can carry out the installation.
Wiring goes to terminal barrier strips inside the can. They are reached through 20 mm and 29 mm conduit knockouts on all five sides. The unit is optimised for use with LAB GRUPPEN amplification.
