Sumiko Wellfleet
Wellfleet is a moving magnet phono cartridge from Sumiko's Oyster Series, built around a nude elliptical stylus on an aluminum cantilever. It suits vinyl listeners who want a step up within the Oyster range and use a standard 47kΩ MM phono input.

Wellfleet is a moving magnet cartridge with a highly polished nude elliptical stylus, where tip and shank are a single low-mass piece. With no bonding point and less moving mass, the stylus is intended to follow groove contours more directly. The cartridge uses a ⌀0.5mm aluminum pipe cantilever and high-purity copper coils.
It belongs to the Oyster Series, which shares interchangeable stylus units across Rainier, Olympia, Moonstone, Wellfleet and Amethyst. The bodies are identical apart from Amethyst, so a worn stylus can be swapped, or a different one fitted later as an upgrade, without changing the cartridge body. The replacement stylus is the RS Wellfleet.
It is designed for a standard moving magnet phono input with a 47kΩ load and 100pF–200pF capacitance. Tracking force is 1.8g–2.2g, with 2.0g recommended. Each cartridge is hand-assembled by Excel Sound in Yokohama, Japan.
