The EC-1 is a digital tape echo pedal built on the maker's dTape modelling, which reproduces a sliding record head, tape condition, bias, motor behaviour and capstan slippage. Delay time runs from 50 ms to 1 second. Two modelled tube preamp voices are available, one based on an EP-2 and one on a modified EP-2 circuit, each with an optional boost of up to +6 dB or a bypass.
Controls cover Time, Mix, Repeats, Tape Age and Mechanics, plus a three-position Record Level switch (unity, +6 dB or +12 dB into the virtual record head) that sets how much saturation the repeats get. Tap tempo changes values without pitch shifting, clicks or mutes, and the Time knob sets the tap division (triplet, eighth, dotted eighth or quarter). The pedal stores 300 presets.
A single TRS input and TRS output handle mono or stereo, selected with a rear-panel switch (mono in/mono out, mono in/stereo out, stereo in/stereo out). Bypass can be true (relay-switched) or buffered. The EXP/MIDI jack accepts an expression pedal, MiniSwitch, MultiSwitch Plus or TRS MIDI, and a USB-C port handles MIDI and firmware updates. It runs from a 9V DC adapter, which is sold separately.
