The UR816C is a 16-in/16-out audio interface that connects over USB-C using the USB 3.1 Gen 1 standard, with USB 2.0 compatibility. It has eight D-PRE mic preamps, two Hi-Z inputs, MIDI In/Out and eight channels of digital I/O over an optical port switchable between ADAT and S/PDIF. Converters work at up to 32-bit/192 kHz.
Studio functions include Mute and Dim controls, a Word Clock connection with SSPLL jitter reduction, and an HA mode that lets a second UR816C act as a stand-alone eight-channel mic preamp. An onboard SSP3 DSP chip provides latency-free monitoring with REV-X reverb, the Sweet Spot Morphing Channel Strip and Guitar Amp Classics amp models, plus a loopback function for streaming. The streaming mix adds a gate, compressor, multi-band compressor and ducker.
It works with ASIO, Core Audio and WDM software on Mac and Windows and switches to class-compliant mode for iPad and iPhone. Control is through the dspMixFx application, or from Cubase via True Integrated Monitoring. dspMixFx Remote Bridge allows wireless control from an iOS device. Cubase AI and Cubasis LE are included.
