Mynx

Mynx is a small desktop chassis with room for two SSL X-Rack modules. The modules use the same circuit design and manufacturing as those in Duality and AWS consoles, so the unit offers a way to add SSL SuperAnalogue sound to a DAW-based setup without a full console or rack.

The user chooses which modules to install from the twelve-module X-Rack range. A SuperAnalogue mic pre paired with a dynamics module gives a front end for recording vocals. A SuperAnalogue or E-Series EQ with a dynamics module forms a channel strip. The VHD Input module adds warmth or grit, the Stereo Bus Compressor module handles full-mix compression, and a Master Bus module with a Line Input module can serve as an analogue monitor and foldback system.

The enclosure is extruded aluminium, 4 mm thick, and measures 105 x 190 x 185 mm. Power reaches the modules from an external supply, and audio connections are made directly to the rear of the installed modules.
