MADI
A family of SSL MADI input/output units for SSL Live consoles: analogue and AES/EBU stageboxes, a Blacklight II concentrator and a MADI-to-Dante bridge. Intended for live and broadcast systems that need redundant, high-channel-count digital audio routing.

The range covers four devices. The ML 32.32 is a 5U analogue stagebox with 32 remote-controlled SuperAnalogue mic/line inputs and 32 line outputs, with remote-switchable phantom power and A/D and D/A conversion built in. The D 32.32 is a 2U digital stagebox with 16 AES/EBU XLR pairs and sample rate conversion on all AES/EBU connections. Both carry redundant coaxial MADI I/O, an extra MADI output for a second console, wordclock, MIDI and GPIO.
The BL II.D is a 2U Blacklight II concentrator. Its front panel has a redundant pair of Blacklight II connectors, each carrying 256 channels at 96 kHz, and its rear panel offers 8 redundant pairs of coaxial MADI connectors, expandable to 16. It links any mix of ML 32.32 and D 32.32 units with up to two SSL Live consoles.
The MADI Bridge converts in both directions between MADI and Dante networks, with sample rate conversion from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz and independent clock domains. It has redundant power supply, MADI, network and sync inputs, a headphone output with routing and an LCD signal-present meter.
