Crimson combines an audio interface with a monitor controller. It is class compliant, so Mac computers and iOS devices can use it without installing a driver. iOS devices connect through the Apple camera adapter.
On Windows, a driver is available and is required to work with sampling rates above the standard one. The listed driver is version 2.9.86.25 dated 19 February 2016, about 2 MB in size, and covers Windows 7, 8 and 10. If time-out errors appear during installation on Windows 10, the system should be checked for driver conflicts, and old unused drivers may need to be removed.
The product is marked as discontinued by the maker. No further details on inputs, outputs or physical specifications are given in the available product text.
