This is a portable speaker that joins a Sonos system over Wi-Fi 6 and switches to Bluetooth 5.3 when away from home. It uses three class-H digital amplifiers driving two angled tweeters and one mid-woofer for stereo sound, and Automatic Trueplay tunes the output to the room and the content playing. The IP67 body is dust-proof and can be submerged in 1 m of water for up to 30 minutes.
A 4800 mAh Li-ion battery gives up to 24 hours of playback, and the battery is user-replaceable. The speaker sits on an included charging base, which needs a USB-C/PD power adapter of 18 W or more, sold separately. The USB-C port can also charge a phone, take a line-in source through the Sonos Line-In Adapter, or connect Ethernet through the Sonos Combo Adapter.
Control is by on-body buttons, the Sonos app, Amazon Alexa, Apple AirPlay 2 or direct control from apps such as Spotify and TIDAL. Up to four speakers can be grouped on the go, and two can be paired with a compatible Sonos soundbar as surrounds. A mic switch cuts power to the microphones.
