Arc is a soundbar that decodes Dolby Atmos and other home cinema formats, including Dolby TrueHD and multichannel PCM over an HDMI eARC connection. It uses eleven Class-D amplified drivers: three silk-dome tweeters and eight elliptical midwoofers, with two of the drivers serving as height channels. Speech Enhancement and Night Sound settings are available in the Sonos app, along with adjustable bass, treble and loudness.
Room calibration is handled by Trueplay, which uses the microphones of a supported iOS device to measure the space and adjust the EQ, including the height channels. Control is possible through capacitive touch controls on top, the Sonos app, the TV's existing remote via an infrared receiver, AirPlay 2, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. A far-field microphone array handles voice commands.
The soundbar connects to the TV with the supplied HDMI cable, or via an optical adapter for TVs that only have an optical output. It joins the network over 2.4 GHz WiFi or a 10/100 Ethernet port. It can stand on furniture or be wall-mounted using a threaded socket, and can be expanded wirelessly with a Sonos subwoofer and rear speakers for surround sound.
