SmplTrek records samples with a single touch and can auto-slice them across the pads. Time-stretching matches a sample's tempo to a song, and pitch-changing keeps samples in key. Each song project holds 16 scenes, and every scene has 10 sequencer tracks plus 3 extra audio tracks for longer recordings such as vocals or guitar.
The sound library has more than 500 sample sounds and 36 internal DSP effects. Users can also load their own sounds from an SD card. A 32GB SDHC card with over 1,000 samples from Black Octopus comes with the unit.
Inputs accept dynamic microphones, electric guitar or bass, and line-level audio devices. A single USB cable to a smartphone or PC/Mac streams audio to online audiences. MIDI and audio sync let it play in time with other instruments. An AC adapter is included. Batteries, a USB cable and other connection cables are sold separately, and iPhone users need an Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. A carrying case set is offered as an option.
