LIVEN Texture Lab works in two modes. In synthesizer mode it records short samples, slices them and rebuilds them as granular voices. In effects processor mode it processes the stereo signal arriving at the line inputs in real time. A freeze function holds the current sound, and six shimmer reverbs (Hall, Room, Arena, Plate, Tunnel and Infinity) add space.
The synth engine records samples of up to 6 seconds (16-bit, 32 kHz, mono) and offers 4 voices of polyphony with up to 16 grains per voice. The single-track sequencer holds 128 patterns of up to 128 steps each and supports parameter locking, and its internal recording captures up to 3 voices. Presets from outside sound designers are included.
It connects through line in and out, a headphone output, MIDI in and out, and sync in and out. Power comes from six AA batteries or a 9V DC adapter, which is sold as a separate option.
