Subminiature lavalier microphone from Shure's TwinPlex line with a dual-diaphragm capsule and 8–10 dB higher output than the other models in the range. Aimed at theater, film, broadcast and live TV dialogue work at medium sound pressure levels.

The TL46 is a clip-on lavalier built around a dual-diaphragm capsule that gives it about twice the surface area of other subminiature microphones. This is intended to deliver a natural sound with solid low-frequency response, consistent pickup when the speaker moves or turns, and low self-noise with wide dynamic range. Its high-sensitivity output suits dialogue and medium-SPL sources.
The capsule uses interchangeable frequency caps with a superhydrophobic nanoscopic coating, intended to prevent sweat-outs. The 1.6 mm cable can be painted to match skin or costume, resists kinking and memory effect, and has a dual redundant ground that acts as a secondary shield.
The microphone is offered in white, tan, cocoa and black. Connector options are LEMO (1-pin, 6-pin and LEMO3) and MTQG/TA4F for use with various wireless transmitters. Clips, mounts, windscreens, replacement caps, connector kits and a storage case are sold separately.
