The TH53 pairs a TwinPlex capsule with a lightweight headset frame. The capsule uses a patent-pending dual-diaphragm design with about twice the surface area of other subminiature microphones, which gives a natural tone, solid low-frequency response and consistent pickup when the talker moves. Low self-noise and wide dynamic range are listed as further strengths.
The frame is adjustable and can be worn on either side. A clutch system lets the boom arm length and pitch be changed with a single knob turn. The 1.6 mm cable can be painted to match skin or hair, resists kinks and memory effect, and has a dual redundant ground that acts as a secondary shield. Interchangeable frequency caps carry a superhydrophobic coating to prevent sweat-outs.
The microphone is offered in black, tan and cocoa with a choice of terminations: LEMO, MTQG/TA4F, MicroDot or open cable ends (bare wire). Accessories and a storage case are supplied.
