The Super 55 is a handheld dynamic vocal microphone with a supercardioid pickup pattern and a frequency response tailored for natural-sounding vocals and speech. Its internal design is based on that of the BETA 58A, and the pattern gives high gain before feedback and good rejection of sound arriving from the sides and rear.
The body is a satin chrome-plated die-cast casing with blue foam accents. The cartridge is shock-mounted to reduce handling and stand noise, which suits performers who move while singing. An integrated swivel stand mount with self-tensioning action tilts 45 degrees forward and 80 degrees backward.
A 5/8" to 3/8" thread adapter and a zippered, padded pouch are supplied. The mic is suited to live stages, studio recording, podcasting and other uses where a stand-mounted microphone with a classic appearance is preferred.
