The SM11 is a small dynamic lavalier microphone with an omnidirectional pickup pattern. Its frequency response is tuned for body-worn use, and it is built to sound close to typical stand- or desk-mounted microphones.
The capsule sits in a rugged aluminum case with a smooth exterior and a recessed grille screen, which helps reduce clothing noise. The mic is light and small enough to be nearly invisible when worn. It uses a very flexible, long-life cable and can be fixed to clothing with either a tie clasp or a tie tack.
A connector belt clip holds the connector securely on a belt or garment, and a zippered bag is supplied for storage and transport. An optional mounting kit, the Shure RK279, allows the SM11 to be attached to various musical instruments.
