The PGA98H is a condenser microphone built for wind instruments. It has a cardioid pickup pattern that favours the sound source and reduces unwanted noise from the sides and rear. The cartridge is tuned for clear reproduction of wind instruments, and the housing has a black metallic finish with a grille that keeps its visual presence small on stage.
A flexible gooseneck makes it quick to aim the capsule, and an integrated horn clamp attaches it to the instrument. The construction is intended for demanding live and studio use.
For wired use, the microphone has an in-line preamplifier that needs phantom power and a direct XLR connection. A TA4F connector is also fitted so it can be used with wireless bodypack systems; no preamplifier is supplied for that connection. An XLR-XLR cable and a zipper pouch for storage and transport are included.
