The PGA31 is a permanently-biased electret condenser microphone worn on a wireframe headset. The cardioid pickup pattern reduces off-axis noise and allows more gain before feedback, which helps when working with a stage monitor. The frequency response is tuned for vocals.
The flexible gooseneck and discrete adjustment options let the user position the capsule close to the mouth for better source isolation. The headset is designed to sit securely during movement, so it suits active performers and players who switch between instruments. A windscreen is included to reduce plosives.
The microphone is offered for use with a wide range of Shure wireless systems. A separate replacement kit (RK377) with a clip and two foam windscreens is listed as an optional accessory.
