KSM141

The KSM141 is a dual-pattern, end-addressed condenser microphone. A mechanical rotating collar changes the polar pattern between cardioid and true omnidirectional, so one microphone can cover a range of recording situations, from close-miked instruments to room ambience.

The capsule uses an ultra-thin 2.5 micron Mylar diaphragm with a 24 karat gold layer, paired with a Class A, discrete, transformerless preamplifier. Internal and external connectors are gold-plated. A three-position pad (0, 15 and 25 dB) allows use with very loud sources, and a three-position low-frequency filter helps reduce background noise and proximity effect. A subsonic filter removes rumble below 17 Hz caused by mechanical vibration.

Typical uses include piano, guitar, drums and percussion, strings, brass and woodwind, double bass, electric bass, kick drum, drum overheads, choirs, orchestras and room pickup of guitar amps or drums. It ships with a hard case, a foam windscreen and a microphone clip.
