The Beta 98AMP/C is a cardioid condenser microphone built for drums and percussion. Its uniform cardioid pattern is intended to give high gain before feedback and to reject off-axis sound, while the frequency response is tuned for drum applications and the wide dynamic range copes with high sound pressure levels.
A preamplifier and an XLR connector are built into the microphone body, which cuts down on extra hardware and cable clutter around the kit. A flexible gooseneck allows fine positioning. Within the Beta 98 family it is the only version with an integrated preamp, and it handles an SPL 7 dB higher than the Beta 98AD/C and Beta 98A/C. The 'A' in the model name denotes a newer capsule with a more natural high-frequency response.
It mounts with the supplied A75M universal mount, which has a quick-release mechanism and suits either instrument or stand mounting. A snap-fit windscreen and a zippered pouch are also included.
