The AONIC 215 Gen 2 pairs a detachable-cable earphone with a wireless adapter set, so the same earphones work wirelessly or on a cable. The over-ear fit follows the style used for stage monitoring, and the sound isolating design blocks up to 37 dB of outside noise. An Environment Mode lets the wearer hear surroundings at the touch of a button.
Battery life is up to 8 hours per charge. The charging case adds three more charges, for up to 32 hours in total. Built-in microphones handle calls and video conferencing. A headphone amplifier and multiple codecs (Qualcomm aptX, AAC, SBC) are included.
Connection is by Bluetooth 5 with a range of up to 30 feet (10 metres) to phones, tablets and laptops. The ShurePlus PLAY app for iOS and Android adjusts EQ and Environment Mode levels. Because the earphones detach, they can also take other cable accessories, including for airplane entertainment systems. A two-year warranty is included.
