The 520DX is a handheld dynamic microphone built for harmonica. Its die-cast metal casing is finished in green and chrome, and the body is contoured so it fits between the instrument and the player's cupped hands. It is known by the nickname "Green Bullet" and is associated with classic blues harp tone. The same shape also lets it be used for distinctly lo-fi vocals.
The microphone uses a rugged dynamic cartridge with improved response and an omnidirectional pickup pattern. A volume control knob at the base lets the player adjust output level on the fly to suit different musical situations during a live performance.
It has a permanently attached cable ending in a standard 1/4-inch plug. The output is high impedance, so it is meant to connect to a high-impedance input. An A95U line matching transformer is listed as an optional accessory for connecting to balanced low-impedance inputs.
