Evolver
The Evolver is a discontinued desktop monosynth that combines two analog oscillators with two digital Prophet VS wavetable oscillators in a true stereo signal path. It suits sound designers who want hybrid analog/digital tones, a built-in sequencer and effects, and external audio processing.

The Evolver is a desktop monophonic synthesizer with a four-oscillator voice: two digitally controlled analog oscillators and two digital wavetable oscillators that use Prophet VS waveforms. Each stereo channel has its own analog Curtis low-pass filter with selectable 2- or 4-pole operation, followed by analog VCAs. A digital high-pass filter, tuned feedback, three syncable delays and stereo analog distortion add further tonal shaping.
Modulation is handled by a 4 x 2 matrix with 24 sources and more than 75 destinations, four syncable LFOs and three looping Delay + ADSR envelopes. A step sequencer with up to 16 steps and 4 tracks can drive any parameter in the matrix, which allows evolving, pseudo-polyphonic patterns. Sequencer, LFOs and delays sync to MIDI clock. Eight knobs and thirteen buttons provide matrix-style editing, and 512 programs are stored in four banks of 128.
The stereo audio input lets the unit process external mono or stereo sources as an effects processor. Connections are MIDI In, Out, Thru and Poly Chain, which allows several units to be daisy-chained for more polyphony, plus 1/4 inch stereo audio input and output. The model is no longer in production.
