The RS 5200 pairs RR 5200 stethoscope-style earphones with a TR 5000 transmitter that also serves as a charging dock. A Speech Clarity function is built in to make dialog easier to follow, and the left and right ears have separate volume controls. The listener sets their own level without changing the TV volume for others in the room.
The earphones come with several ear tip options: silicone ear pads in two sizes, memory foam and open foam, allowing a more open or a more isolated fit. The neckband-free design is meant to stay clear of glasses and hair. The built-in lithium polymer battery runs for about 12 hours and recharges in about 3 hours on the transmitter base.
The transmitter connects to the TV through an optical digital cable or a 3.5 mm analog cable, with an RCA adapter included. It works over 2.4 GHz, reaches up to 70 m, and supports up to four connected receivers.
