This is a UHF wireless set for speech use. A bodypack transmitter and a clip-on microphone (ME 2-II omni-directional in the ME2 set, ME 4 cardioid in the ME4 set) send audio to a half-rack true diversity receiver in a metal housing. An LCD on the receiver gives access to the settings.
The transmitter and receiver are synchronised over infrared. A linking function speeds up frequency allocation when several receivers are used together, with up to 12 systems possible. Each system can be tuned across up to 42 MHz in 1680 selectable frequencies, with up to 20 compatible channels. Range is stated as up to 100 m, and RF output power reaches 30 mW depending on national regulations. The listing is for the 1G8 frequency range (1785–1800 MHz).
The receiver outputs audio on an unbalanced 6.3 mm jack socket. The transmitter runs on two AA batteries, with a typical operating time of 8 hours. A rackmount set is supplied so the receiver can be installed in a rack.
