The EW 100 G4-Ci1 is a UHF wireless set for guitar and bass. A bodypack transmitter takes the signal from the instrument through a Ci 1 cable and sends it to a half-rack true diversity receiver in a full-metal housing. The receiver has an LCD display for control, and transmitter and receiver are synchronised wirelessly by infrared.
Tuning covers up to 42 MHz of bandwidth with 1680 selectable frequencies, and up to 20 compatible channels are available. A linking function assigns frequencies quickly across as many as 12 receivers. Transmission range is up to 100 m (300 ft), and RF output reaches up to 30 mW depending on national regulations. The 1G8 variant described here works in the 1785 to 1800 MHz range.
The receiver outputs to a 6.3 mm unbalanced jack. The set ships with a rackmount kit, an RJ 10 linking cable, a power supply, two rod antennas and two AA batteries for the transmitter, which typically run for about 8 hours.
