VAD506

The VAD506 combines full-depth, full-diameter wooden shells with Roland's digital sensor technology. The kit has a 14" digital snare, 10" and 12" rack toms, a 14" floor tom and a 20" kick, along with a 12" V-Hi-Hat, two thin textured crash cymbals and an 18" digital ride. Tension-adjustable mesh heads set the rebound, and the kick pad is built so the beater moves air inside the shell. Pads sit on double-braced chrome stands, and the cymbals use pivot mounts for an acoustic-style swing.

Sounds come from the TD-27 module, which uses Prismatic Sound Modeling derived from the TD-50 and PureAcoustic Ambience Technology with per-kit mic position and an overhead mic simulator. Kits can be edited from the front panel, with automatic saving, and WAV samples can be imported from an SD card. Onboard multi-effects and mixing cover EQ, compression, reverb and delay. Practice tools include coaching functions, a metronome and recording.

The module has stereo mix outputs and two direct outputs, a USB audio interface with up to 28 channels, and USB and dedicated MIDI I/O. Bluetooth streams audio from a phone or laptop. Three auxiliary trigger inputs allow extra pads or a double-kick setup.
