VAD307

The VAD307 pairs shallow-depth wood shells with a footprint equal to a mid-level V-Drums set. The kit has a 12-inch snare, two 10-inch rack toms, a 12-inch tom, an 18-inch kick pad and a 12-inch V-Hi-Hat. Mesh heads have adjustable tension, and the kick is built so the beater moves air inside the shell. Two thin 12-inch crashes and a 14-inch ride complete the setup. The ride triggers edge, bow and bell separately, and every cymbal can be choked by grabbing the edge.

Sounds come from the updated TD-17 module. It has 70 preset kits, including 10 new ones, and 26 pre-loaded samples for custom kits. Reverb and Kit Comp effects have been added, along with 11 more MFX types. Drums, heads, tuning, muffling and ambience can be changed, and your own samples can be loaded. A Coach mode tracks practice progress, and the Melodics for V-Drums app for macOS and Windows offers lessons.

The module has built-in Bluetooth audio for streaming music from a phone or laptop, and recording with or without backing. It also supports Roland Cloud for downloading extra sounds, samples and artist kits with a free account. Double-braced chrome stands hold the tom pads and cymbals, with two extra trigger inputs for the aux pad and second crash.
