VAD103

The VAD103 is a compact electronic kit built around shallow-depth wood shells. It has an 18-inch kick pad fitted with a drumhead, a 12-inch snare pad, a 10-inch rack tom pad and a 12-inch floor tom pad. These use tension-adjustable double-ply mesh heads, and the snare and toms have separate head and rim zones. The VH-10 hi-hat, a 12-inch crash and a 13-inch ride complete the layout, and the pads mount on conventional stands. The kick and cymbals are specified for low stick noise and vibration.

Sounds come from the TD-07 module, which holds 25 preset kits, 25 user kits and 143 instruments. Editing tools include V-Edit, EQ, ambience and 30 multi-effects. The module also has a metronome with adjustable time signature, note value and click tone, plus a Coach mode with timing and accuracy challenges. A second crash cymbal can be added as an expansion.

The module has integrated Bluetooth for streaming audio from a phone, tablet or computer and for sending MIDI data to music apps. A stereo audio cable can be used instead. A single USB connection carries audio and MIDI to a computer for recording. The kit includes 40 free Melodics lessons. A kick pedal, snare stand, hi-hat stand and drum throne are not included.
