The TR-8S is a drum machine with circuit-modelled 808, 606, 909, 707 and 727 sounds plus sample playback, a 16-step TR-REC sequencer and eight analog outputs. It suits producers and live performers who want hands-on pattern building and a USB audio/MIDI interface.

The TR-8S models classic TR drum machines (808, 606, 909, 707, 727 and modified versions) with ACB circuit modelling and adds more than 300 preset samples. Users can import their own mono or stereo WAV or AIFF files from an SD card and adjust decay, tuning, start point, speed and direction. Eleven instrument parts can each be assigned any tone, and a separate part drives the trigger output.
Patterns are built on 16 TR-REC buttons or a velocity-sensitive pad. The sequencer supports accents, flams, sub-step rolls and ratcheting, per-part last-step lengths, motion recording and parameter locks. It stores 128 patterns, each with eight variations and two fill-ins, plus a Scatter fill and Auto-Fill. Each instrument has a CTRL knob, and a Master FX knob and instrument, reverb, delay and master effects are saved with each of the 128 kits.
Outputs include stereo mix out, six assignable outs that can also act as triggers, a mini-jack trigger out and headphones. Stereo external inputs, MIDI in/out and a USB Type-B port carrying audio and MIDI complete the connections. An SD card backs up kits, patterns and settings.
