The TR-1000 builds on Roland's TR lineage with a newly developed analog engine covering 16 circuits from the 808 and 909, alongside digital engines: ACB circuit modelling (including 21 circuit-bent 8X/9X models), FM, virtual analog and PCM. A stereo sampler handles sampling and resampling, BPM sync, time-stretching and non-destructive slicing, with 46 GB of user memory.
Sounds pass through per-track processing: compressor, multimode filter with four-band EQ, amp and envelope, a three-target LFO, and reverb and delay sends. An analog state-variable filter and drive section sits on the stereo analog FX path, and master effects include the SP-303/SP-404 Vinyl Sim and SDD-320 Dimension D. Four layer tracks allow two stacked or separate sound generators.
The TR-REC sequencer adds off-grid timing, motion recording, probability, cycle conditions, track direction and a song mode. A Morph slider and per-track snapshots help with live performance. Connections include individual outs, trigger and CV I/O, MIDI, DIN sync, and a USB-C audio/MIDI interface. The TR-1000 App provides editing and librarian functions.
