The module generates drum, percussion and cymbal sounds using modeling applied to studio samples, with 100 kits (55 preset) and 728 instruments. Each kit can be edited by hand, including mic position, an overhead mic simulator, per-pad compressor and equalizer, room/reverb and three multi-effect systems. Users can import their own WAV samples from an SD card and use them alone or layered with internal sounds.
Trigger connectivity includes three USB-A digital trigger ports for compatible digital pads, a 25-pin multi-pin trigger input with an included cable, a second crash input and three auxiliary inputs. The digital ports and the analog trigger jacks cannot be used together.
For outputs there are a stereo master out and two mono direct outs, plus a headphone jack and a stereo mix input. A USB port carries MIDI and up to 28 channels of audio to a computer, and MIDI in and out/thru sockets are fitted. Bluetooth streams audio from a phone or laptop, and the module also has a song player, recorder, metronome and coaching functions for practice.
