SPD-SX
A nine-pad sampling instrument for triggering one-shots, loops and backing tracks, aimed at drummers, percussionists and keyboard or DJ players. It stores samples internally and adds onboard effects and external trigger inputs.

The SPD-SX is a sample-playback pad with nine velocity-sensitive rubber pads, each with an LED that shows whether it is playing and follows the audio level. Two external trigger inputs accept up to four additional pads, and a backlit 128 x 64 graphic LCD shows settings. It holds 100 kits and 8 kit chains of 20 steps each.
The 4 GB internal memory stores up to 10,000 wave files, roughly 720 minutes in mono or 360 minutes in stereo, with preload data using part of that space. Multi-Pad Sampling lets you capture audio from an external player or a computer through the audio inputs or USB, then strike the pads at start and end points so each section is trimmed and assigned automatically.
Three effects engines are onboard: a master effect with a filter, delay, short looper and an assignable effect, plus two effects assignable per kit. Two control knobs and four buttons adjust the master effect live. Connections include master and sub outputs, audio inputs, MIDI in and out, a footswitch jack, a USB memory port and a USB computer port. Wave Manager software for importing and organising samples is supplied.
