The SH-4d is a portable desktop synthesizer with thirteen oscillator models, four synth parts plus a rhythm part, and a built-in pattern sequencer. It suits studio, stage and travel use, running from USB-C power or AA batteries.

The SH-4d combines a multitimbral sequencer with thirteen OSC Models, covering vintage analog-style engines (SH-4d, SH-3D, SH-101, JUNO-106), digital types (Wavetable, Cross FM, Drawing, Ring, Sync, Step, Chord, Harmonic) and a PCM model. Four synth parts and one rhythm part share up to 60 voices. The rhythm part offers 49 preset kits and 64 user slots, with 26 instruments per kit.
The panel has 32 knobs, four sliders and many multi-function buttons. The LCD and controls change function with the selected mode. A ladder filter with an independent high-pass filter, an ADSR amp and an LFO section are always on hand, and a Matrix section routes LFOs, envelopes or external MIDI to model parameters. Motion sensors drive D-Motion and Visual Arpeggio. The sequencer holds 128 patterns with real-time and step entry, motion recording, probability, sub steps and pattern chains. Each part has its own MFX, alongside shared reverb, chorus and delay.
For connections it has stereo 1/4-inch outputs, a headphone jack, a 3.5 mm stereo mix input, 5-pin MIDI in and out, a clock input and a USB-C port for audio and MIDI. A class-compliant mode gives stereo audio, and a vendor driver allows 12-channel recording into a DAW.
