The RP107 is a home digital piano built around the SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine, which combines sampling and modeling so the tone follows playing touch and dynamics. It offers 256 voices of polyphony, 15 tones and two 12 cm speakers rated at 8 W each. The 88-key PHA-4 Standard keyboard has escapement action and Ivory Feel white keys, and the piano has damper, soft and sostenuto pedals, with continuous detection on the damper and soft pedals.
The cabinet has a traditional upright look with a slide-out keyboard cover and a fixed-angle music rest. It weighs 37.0 kg. Learning and practice tools include a metronome, Twin Piano mode, Dual mode, transpose, an onboard recorder and 377 internal songs, among them 287 lesson pieces (scales, Hanon, Beyer, Burgmuller, Czerny 100).
Bluetooth 4.2 handles audio streaming (A2DP) and MIDI over Bluetooth Low Energy, so phones and tablets can play through the piano's speakers or run MIDI apps. A USB Computer port and a USB Memory port cover computers and flash drives. Two headphone jacks allow two people to practise silently, and the Roland Piano App adds remote control, lessons and score access.
