The JUNO-Gi combines a 128-voice sound engine with a 61-key velocity-sensitive keyboard. It holds 1,379 preset Live Sets, each of which can stack or split up to four tones. Tone Category buttons and a 240 x 64 backlit graphic display help with finding sounds. Two effects systems with 79 types, plus chorus and reverb, are built in. The guitar and vocal processing is derived from BOSS GT-series effects.
The onboard recorder has 8 tracks with 64 V-Tracks and records to SD or SDHC cards of up to 32 GB, which allows roughly 192 hours of single-track recording. Up to two tracks can be recorded at once, and up to eight can be played back together. A combined guitar/mic input, stereo line inputs and three insert-effect banks (Guitar, Mic, Line) let it work as a small live mixer or recording station. It also includes rhythm patterns, an arpeggiator and chord memory.
A single USB Hi-Speed port carries audio and MIDI to a computer, and a MIDI Controller mode lets the unit control a DAW or external gear. Standard MIDI IN/OUT, pedal jacks and a USB memory port are also fitted. It runs from the AC adaptor or from eight rechargeable Ni-MH AA batteries, for about 3 hours of use.
