The HP603 is a cabinet digital piano that generates its piano sound by modelling rather than playing back samples, with unlimited polyphony for solo piano tones and 384 voices for other sounds. The PHA-50 keyboard has 88 keys with escapement, an ebony and ivory feel and a hybrid of wood and plastic, with a stabilising pin on each key. Three pedals include a damper pedal with continuous detection.
The tone set totals 319 sounds, including strings, brass and organ, and 25 registrations store favourite setups with layers and splits. Piano Designer settings cover lid, hammer and key-off noise, string and damper resonance, soundboard type and single-note tuning, volume and character. Headphones 3D Ambience processes the sound when headphones are used. Recording is to Standard MIDI File or WAV audio on a USB memory stick.
Connections include a USB computer port, a USB memory port, line outputs, an input jack and two headphone jacks. Bluetooth MIDI works with the Piano Partner 2 and Piano Designer apps; the HP603A model also streams audio over Bluetooth through the piano's speakers. Bluetooth may not be available in every country.
