The GP-3 is a compact digital grand piano with a gloss black cabinet and 698 mm depth, aimed at home players with limited space. It has an 88-key hammer-action keyboard, built-in speakers, Bluetooth audio and MIDI, and Roland Piano App support.

The GP-3 is a digital piano built into a low-profile grand-style cabinet. Its sound engine is paired with an 88-key keyboard with escapement and Ivory Feel key surfaces, plus sustain, soft and sostenuto pedals. The damper and soft pedals support continuous detection for half-pedal playing. Up to 256 voices can sound at once, and the instrument carries 15 tones.
Sound comes from a built-in stereo speaker system with two 12 cm speakers at 11 W each. Opening the lid and setting it to different positions changes the overall tone colour. Practice tools include a metronome, a recorder, Twin Piano mode, transpose, and 394 internal songs, among them 287 lesson songs. Two headphone jacks allow silent playing.
For connections, the piano has Bluetooth 4.2 for streaming audio (A2DP) and for MIDI over Bluetooth Low Energy. It also has a USB Computer port (USB MIDI/audio) and a USB Memory port for flash drives. The Roland Piano App for smartphones and tablets gives remote control of sounds and the metronome, plus recording, scores and lesson features.
