The FP-50 is a compact 88-key digital piano built around the SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine and the Ivory Feel-G keyboard with escapement. It offers 128-voice polyphony, five key-touch levels plus a fixed touch setting, and piano-specific resonance effects including soundboard, damper, string and key-off resonance. Beyond acoustic pianos it carries electric pianos, strings, organs, synths and drum sets, with Whole, Dual and Split keyboard modes.
An intelligent rhythm function supplies 90 styles with two variations each, and chord recognition across the whole keyboard lets the accompaniment follow what is played. There are 30 internal songs, 20 registrations, a metronome and a one-song SMF recorder. With optional USB flash memory the piano can play and record WAV audio (44.1 kHz, 16-bit), with transposition, speed change and Center Cancel on playback, and play SMF songs.
The built-in speakers can be switched off for headphone practice. Stereo 1/4-inch outputs feed external amplification, and MIDI IN/OUT, a stereo mini input, a damper pedal jack with assignable soft and sostenuto inputs, and a USB memory port are provided. Wireless LAN is possible with a separate USB adapter. A DP-10 damper pedal is supplied.
