The F701 is a home digital piano with an 88-key PHA-4 Standard keyboard that has escapement and ivory-feel white keys. Sound comes from the SuperNATURAL piano engine with 256-voice polyphony and 324 tones, and a pair of 12 cm speakers with 12 W amplifiers each fill the room. Piano Designer adjustments cover lid, string, damper and key-off resonance, plus single-note tuning, volume and character.
Practice features include a metronome, a recorder, Dual, Split and TwinPiano modes, and a Headphones 3D Ambience effect. A graphic OLED display with icons shows the settings. There are 377 internal songs, including 287 lesson pieces (Scale, Hanon, Beyer, Burgmuller, Czerny 100). The cabinet has rounded corners and a folding key cover, with the connections at the back so the piano can face any direction. Depending on region, a BNC-05 height-adjustable bench is included.
Bluetooth audio streams phone music through the piano speakers, and Bluetooth MIDI links to learning apps such as Skoove, Roland's Piano Every Day and Piano Designer. Wired connections are a USB computer port, a USB memory port for audio and MIDI files, an input jack and two headphone jacks.
