The DJ-505 is a compact controller for Serato DJ Pro with two channels and a Deck Select function that gives access to four decks. Large, low-latency platters with brushed aluminum top plates and illuminated outer rings are intended for scratching. Eight performance pads cover Hot Cue, Roll, Slicer, TR, Pattern and Sampler modes.
A built-in drum section models the TR-909, TR-808, TR-707 and TR-606 using ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) technology. Each kit has eight sounds, which can be played on the pads or triggered from a 16-step sequencer. The sequencer can also drive the Serato Sampler. Level, Attack, Decay and Tune knobs shape the drum sounds and samples in real time. A Serato Tool Kit license is included.
The unit has a built-in 24-bit/48 kHz audio interface and connects to a computer over USB. Balanced XLR master outputs, balanced Booth outputs, and 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch headphone jacks cover PA and monitoring. Line and phono inputs let the mixer run standalone, and a MIDI output syncs external gear to the TR-S sequencer.
