AX-Edge
The AX-Edge is a 49-key keytar with a 4-part plus vocoder sound engine, Bluetooth MIDI and battery operation, built for performing keyboard players. It has swappable Edge Blades for a custom look and neck controls for expressive playing.

The AX-Edge is a shoulder-worn keyboard with 49 full-sized keys that respond to velocity and channel aftertouch. It runs on the Synth-EX sound generator with 4 parts plus a vocoder part, 320 user programs and over 500 preset tones chosen for stage use. Splits and layers are available, and the Tone Remain function lets sounds change without notes or effect tails being cut off.
The left-hand neck carries a modulation bar, a pressure-sensitive pitch ribbon and controls for portamento, hold, octave switching and program change, and many of these can be reassigned. Effects include 79 types of part multi-effects and program multi-effects, chorus, reverb, a master compressor and a master EQ. A built-in arpeggiator, song player and vocoder with a mic input, plus a dual display system, support live use.
The unit can run from an AC adaptor or from eight rechargeable Ni-MH AA batteries for about 4 hours. Bluetooth MIDI links it to a smartphone editor app for wireless sound editing. Five-pin MIDI, USB computer and USB memory ports allow it to act as a master controller and to back up data or play audio files. It comes in black or white, and one extra Edge Blade is supplied to change its appearance.
