NT1-A

The NT1-A is a true-condenser studio microphone built around a 1-inch gold-sputtered capsule made to sub-micron tolerances in Sydney, Australia. Its cardioid pattern rejects off-axis sound, and the proximity effect is described as controlled, so close-miked sources stay balanced. The capsule is shock mounted internally.

Self-noise is rated at 5 dB(A), which keeps recordings clean when capturing quiet sources. The microphone also has a wide dynamic range and high SPL capability, which makes it usable on drums and percussion as well as on vocals, spoken word, acoustic guitar and piano.

The microphone ships as a recording kit with the SM6 shock mount, which has a removable pop shield adjustable on two axes and a telescopic arm. A dust cover and an XLR cable are also supplied. Connection is by XLR. The product is listed under the maker's legacy products.
