The X14 is a modular video wall processor that combines many inputs and outputs in a single chassis. Each slot can be fitted with input or output cards handling signals up to 4K/UHD at full frame rate, and the output canvas can reach 165 megapixels. Windowing and layering are extended over earlier models, with up to 160 layers in total and 4 layers per output.
Preview is available on the built-in LCD and remotely through the XPOSE control software, which is embedded in the unit and also provides control functions. Ethernet ports on the communication board stream H.264, which can be used for monitoring or for sending a feed to common live streaming services. A multi-display management function lets outputs be split into groups assigned to different display types (LCD, projector, LED), with each group controlled separately.
On the signal side, the 12G-SDI input module can switch between 2SI and SQD encoding for 4K signals. Format conversion covers H.264, HDBaseT, SDI, HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort. Other features include HDR pass-through, EDID management, genlock, a pre-installed Linux system and an optional redundant hot-swap power supply with automatic temperature control.
