TAO 1 mini is a small, lightweight streaming node that encodes or decodes video over gigabit Ethernet. It takes HDMI and UVC sources and works with FULL NDI as well as NDI|HX, HX2 and HX3, and it can be set up as either an NDI encoder or an NDI decoder.
For streaming it supports RTMP, RTMPS, RTSP and SRT, and it can send to at least four platforms at once. Resolution goes up to 4K at 60 fps, with low end-to-end latency. A 2.1-inch touchscreen shows the signal in real time and is used for menu operation. Recording to a USB drive is supported, and LED tally indicators are built in.
The unit can be powered from USB-C or from a PoE network connection. Dual 1/4-inch mounts let it attach to standard camera brackets and cages. Documentation available from the maker includes a brochure, specification sheet, quick start guide, user manual and firmware.
