MSP 405
The MSP 405 is a compact converter that translates video between 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0 and fiber optic, in any direction between two of the three formats. It suits live events, staging and field work where 4K signals must be converted or carried over long distances.

The MSP 405 converts a signal arriving on any one of its HDMI, SDI or fiber inputs to either of the other two protocols. All interfaces handle video up to 3840×2160 at 60 Hz and stay compatible with 1920×1080 at 60 Hz and 1280×720 at 60 Hz. Conversion is done in FPGA hardware, and the format adapts automatically. SDI signals from SD up to 12G are supported, and the unit can also relay a signal for long runs.
A built-in preview monitor with a touch panel is used for menu operation. Other functions include a standard test pattern generator for on-site setup, audio playback and embedding, line equalization, and clock recovery. Adapter cables for DVI and VGA signal conversion are included.
The standard unit has a battery case that holds up to two camera batteries and switches to the backup battery when the primary one runs low, so it can work as a standalone mobile unit. Firmware upgrades and control are available over the Ethernet interface for system integration. Pro and Premier variants add rack mounting: the Pro fits up to four units in a 1U rack with redundant power capacity, and the Premier fits up to two units with a lockable rear-panel connection.
