The MSP 318-4 is a compact HDMI extender set. The transmitter plugs straight into an HDMI source. The receiver plugs into an HDMI port on a display or downstream device. The two units are linked by fiber optic cable through integral LC ports. Both single-mode and multi-mode fiber can be used.
Over multi-mode fiber the link reaches up to 300m. Over single-mode fiber it reaches up to 2000m, or 200m when HDCP is in use. The optical path uses a 1310/1550nm laser diode source with a built-in 1310/1550nm WDM filter, at a transmission speed of 10.2Gb/s. The fiber link resists electromagnetic interference. The set is HDCP compatible, and EDID can be managed through a micro USB port.
Each end runs from a low-voltage power supply that comes with the set. The small units are meant for portable use or restricted spaces. A specification sheet and a user manual are available for download.
