The MSP 314-2 is a transmitter and receiver pair that extends DVI video over fibre-optic cable. Both units plug directly into DVI ports, so no separate DVI cables are needed at either end, and the small housing is aimed at portable use. Fibre connects through integral LC ports.
The set is listed with VESA resolutions up to WUXGA (1920x1600) at 60 Hz. It has a built-in WDM wave plate with a 1310 nm / 1550 nm laser diode as the optical source, so the link works over a single fibre. EDID can be captured with a push-pin and managed on the unit. Listed reach is 500 m on multi-mode fibre and 2000 m on single-mode fibre.
Both units are powered from supplied plug-packs. The set is intended for linking a remote source to displays or other DVI devices. A specification sheet and a user manual are available as downloads.
