The MSP 231S converts one SDI input into a USB 2.0 video and audio stream. It captures at resolutions up to 1920×1080 and runs at 1080p60. It meets the UVC and UAC standards, so computers detect it as a standard camera and audio device with no driver installation.
It works with Windows, Linux and macOS, and is compatible with USB 2.0 host chipsets from Intel, Renesas, ASMedia and Fresco Logic, among others. It is backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports. A microphone input allows synchronous audio to be captured with the video. The unit draws its power over the USB connection, so no separate power supply is needed.
The captured feed can be used for preview, recording, capture and live broadcast in third-party software such as OBS, PotPlayer, AMCAP and VLC. Documentation available for the product includes a specification sheet and a user manual, both in English.
